We are based in Brooklyn, NY.
Absolutely. We travel regularly, especially in the NY-NJ-PA-CT area.
Pricing starts at $1800 for a trio for 60 min, within New York City. This includes a special request song. For events outside NYC, we can send a price quote that includes travel.
We will work closely with you, the client, to make sure the batch of songs picked out for the wedding fits exactly what you want! The songs are chosen by you from our song lists, which are growing with each event we play, week by week. We will send you our latest song list ahead of the wedding so you can let us know which songs you love the most. If your booking includes any “special requests”, those being songs that are NOT on our list already, (in other words songs we’ll need to learn especially for your event), we ask for 30 days notice to give us enough time to arrange those songs for the group. This is a process we go through with every client.
When you’re ready to move forward, we have a simple contract that we email over, along with a link to an online invoice. We ask for a 50% deposit, with the rest due 10 days before the wedding. Everything can be done online and over email, although we can mail a contract if you’d prefer.
We accept payments by check or electronic payment from checking accounts and credit/debit cards. Please note: Payments by CARD are subject to a 2.9% processing fee.
No problem to add the viola to the trio make it a quartet. We ask for 90 days notice on adding musicians. The payment terms are laid out in the contract.
No problem to add time to the booking. It’s always more cost-efficient to add time AHEAD of the event. (The “overtime” policy is pretty tough.) We ask for 60-days notice on adding time to the booking.
Both the extra musicians and extra time are listed as “Options” in the contract, and they’re customizable to fit the needs of your event. We’re typically booked far in advance, and we recognize the plan may bend or flex a bit over the months or years leading into the event. We pride ourselves on being flexible, and our contract language reflects that.
Typically, the musicians are dressed in dark formalwear. For Spring / Summer events, we can go with lighter-colored suits and dresses by request. Happy to discuss!
TSQ is most often hired for the early part of a wedding – the ceremony, cocktail hour, etc., in which case a meal is not necessary. For ceremony and cocktail hour bookings, they’ll likely be out of the venue and on their way to another gig before dinner is served. If you hire the musicians to play through dinner, we may request what’s called a “vendor meal”, depending on the circumstances. This is a meal provided by caterers which, by the way, is not the same as what the guests are having. It’s not a multi-course meal. It’s usually a small meal, provided at a reduced price, for the photographer, musicians, etc. We can work closely with your event planner, venue coordinator, or catering director to insure the plan for feeding the musicians will work with the schedule.
If there’s someone from the group that you love, we can reach out and have them put a hold on the date for you. We can’t ever 100% guarantee a particular TSQ group member, just because there is always the chance of illness, or perhaps that musician gets called for a long tour out of town or something. But in most cases, if there’s someone special from TSQ’s roster that you’ve seen at an event, or heard in a video, they can be requested for your event.
We understand that the music for your wedding or event needs to be just right, and we are committed to making that happen.
We’re officially back in 2021! See how we’re doing things differently in the new normal.
